Hola padres! What a fun week! With the rain, our schedule was very fluid this week and we have adjusted where needed. In PE earlier this week, we played freeze dance and learned to juggle with scarves, again while listening to the Gipsy Kings. It was a fun way to get moving! The latter part of this week, we have been playing Chinese tag, a new tag game that will take some practice to play really well, so we might continue it into next week.
In Spanish, for first grade we have been practicing our classroom vocabulary by using a couple of games to help us remember the names for things in Spanish. Later this week, we are practicing by using a worksheet that will also help us practice our numbers in Spanish.
For Kindergarten Spanish, I began the alphabet today. Mostly, I'd like them to learn the names of the letters and words that begin with that letter. I hope to get through most of the alphabet this year and we will see how that goes.
Next week, I hope to get into colors and broadly cover those so that we can get into some new vocabulary the week after. We'll see what creative ways I can come up with to get the scholars to recognize the color names in Spanish. On Wednesdays, we are continuing our work with the parachute and our study of Venezuela.
Gracias,
Sra. Hamilton
