la ropa, grab a flag and flip flopping our schedule

Hola padres! We have had a fun week of playing grab a flag in PE. What has worked out so nicely about this game is that it requires the scholars to wear a belt with flags on it, which works so well with our la ropa or clothing unit in Spanish! Now the scholars should know very well what el cinturon is in Spanish.

This week in Spanish for first grade, we have worked on drawing clothes on a boy and girl as we follow directions as to what they are wearing. This is an activity that comes out of their workbook. For Kinder, I put together a clothing packet for them that we are working through. I hope that both activities help them learn the vocabulary well. We will continue with our clothing unit next week with an art project for kinder and more games and practice for first grade.

Also, I wanted to let you know that very soon, I plan on flip flopping our schedule. My goal is to have all PE classes in the morning to avoid the impending heat. This will allow us to have Spanish inside in the afternoons. I'm sorry about the dustiness of the playing field we use. If for any reason, your scholar should not be running or participating in PE, please send a note with them. I have many scholars telling me they have a cough or that their leg hurts. Without a note, I cannot verify that they shouldn't be participating. I tell them to do the best they can and for the most part they are fine. Thank you for your understanding!

That is all I have for now! Have a wonderful weekend!
Sra. Hamilton
