Hola padres! We have continued our jump rope unit this week and the scholars are coming along! I know it can be frustrating for some, but I let them know that what I want most from them is their effort and that the rest will fall into place when it is time. Next week we will have the individual class competitions to find out who will jump in the K-1 contest on Friday the 14th at 9:30. Please come watch if you get the chance. The kids are really excited. Again, if it is at all possible for them to practice at home, that would be really great!
In conjunction with that, I realized that I never explained to the scholars how to say jump rope in Spanish. Today, I began introducing them to the terminology. Now when I tell them we are going to brincar riata, they should know exactly what I mean and what to do. I am so excited to share this with them and have them learn it.
We are wrapping up our unit on la familia and everyone is catching on so fast! I let them know that we will be doing a quick first ever quiz in Spanish next week. They should all have a copy of el arbol de familia de oso or the bear family tree as their study guide. I will be giving them a blank family tree and word bank to use for the quiz. It will be up to them to fill the tree out. They are all doing so well that I don't anticipate there being any issues at all. I think they will all do well!
Kinder is finishing up their own family tree in class. They have colored in their family members and we will be pasting and labeling them today and tomorrow. This is a good way to help them remember the family vocabulary.
Adios,
Sra. Hamilton
